Yesterday while krishnan sir was taking lunch, a friend of his came to the room where the dining was taking place.We were also there. On seeing the friend, Krishnan sir informed that friend ,with a laugh, that the feeling the friend expressed over phone had been duly communicated to everybody around and caused much humour.
The friend had telephoned KK sir to tell him that due to the BJP hartal (strike)it would be difficult to come to Madhuvanam. Then KK sir answered with an usual "oh".
Interestingly later the friend called kk sir and told that the "oh" was felt to have contained a sadness, might be because the friend is not coming. KK sir laughed at it and told that there was no such a feeling in him and that is just the friend's imagination.The friend again called later in the evening to tell KK sir that it was joyous to believe so, and when it was realised that it was only an imagination, it was painful. Now the friend too joined the lunch with kk sir.The friend explained that the feeling was awesome when it was felt that kk sir was sad on the late coming of the friend. An immediate joy had enveloped the friend. But soon to realise that is was only an imagination.
Krishnan Kartha Sir told :' Since you were elated on your own imagination, you had to come down desperately when the truth was known.Thus you create ups and downs.We are supposed to learn to be more truthful to the existence and be practical.Only then the poetry of life can really be enjoyed.Why does the mind create such imaginations? tp fill the void of doubts and anxieities.One is anxious about his love, about the reciprocation of love by the other.Becasue, Love makes him sacrifice a lot.He doesnt want to lose anything unnecessarily.So hthe mind take precautions to avoid any such losses.So mind will be always alert to find out some thing which proves the other person not to be reciprocative. when this is achieved mind plays new games.Starts to imagin that that the other is like this and other is like that.The mind prompts that the other cannot bear my separation.We will try to confirm this prompting.We will ask the other, hey are you worried at my absence?.... The other may say yes, and the mind will cooldown wishfully thinking that it was right.... In fact Love rejects all such nonsense.When one is in Love, he doesnt feel any anxiety over the future of the relationship.The love happens only when all such anxieties are gone from our mind.Till then we may feel that we are in love , but really not.we are in the shadow of lOve.Even the shadow gives enoguh sweetness to intoxicate us, since we havent tasted it before.But the real love is more that this.It is freedom and not confinement.You are not to be confined to any wishful thinking and imagination. The total sacrifice takes place.When I start to love, I make myself prepared to sacrifice a lot. That is eseential for love.Then I am not bothered about any silly feelings.But about the OTHER alone and not about myself.In love the other person becomes important than me, and I am rendered egoless, and selfless.Love is thus a surrender to the other.Then you have no pang of seperation , no 'viraha' nothing... You are in eternal presence of the Other.
Don't think that reciprocation of the love from me is needed for your sustenance. Each person takes birth with a purpose of his own. When you are in real Love, you are wholesome, no voids in you!.You wont seek anyone or anything to fulfill you... You are saturated. This is real independance. Dependance upon no body! Man has struggled for freedom always.... all strikes were for freedom not for any basic amenities.... So achieve freedom."
We all sighed and remained silent. It was a lesson for each of us ,who unknowingly become possessive of the chances. By this time KK sir had finished his usual small bowl of rice and got up to wash his hands.
